Day 2 part 3!

Adventure Course
The adventure course had many different balancing challenges, tunnels, cargo nets and a flying fox. The challenge we were given was to get all the way round the course without touching the ground. Five lives were not enough for some! Everyone persevered really well and completed the course in their own time.

There were many, many more photographs taken and some video which I will try to upload at a later date but in the meantime enjoy spotting who you can and I will keep you updated.

Day 2 part 2!

Zip wire
Our second activity today was the zip wire. The height of the platform took some people by surprise and looked a bit daunting at first. Once one or two had tried it though the confidence level increased and it was thoroughly enjoyed by all.
Getting kitted out with harnesses.

The harnesses have to be checked.

Getting ready to catch!
We all had to work as a team to help catch each other at the end and stop us sliding back across the lake.

Go Go Go! Haul them in to the platform.
It was a joint effort on the rope to pull people along to the platform.

Catch the rope Harvey!

It's so high!

Getting ready to jump!

Did you really do that Martyna!

Oh Yes I sure did!

Not sure we really needed to be taught to scream!
There was a great sense of achievement at the end and a brilliant atmosphere of encouragement and celebration of accomplishment.

Kaitlyn’s quote of the day – “Sit back and enjoy the ride!”
Molly C – “I always knew I could fly cos I’m a unicorn.”
Most people – “Aaaaaaaargh!”

Day 2

Orienteering
After a peaceful night and early alarm call we were raring to go this morning!
First up was the orienteering activity which helped us to become familiar with the grounds of the complex. We were given maps and photos for the first activity and had to find the exact locations of the pictures.
Strolling in the sunshine!

How high is this tree?

This high!

The photo board.
The second map was more difficult and the third took us even further away!
Exploring.

Found it!

Collecting the scores.

Still looking!

Adding up the scores.

Nethybridge!

Well here we are at Nethybridge at last!
We had a fine trip on the boat and a good bus trip down.
No one was sick thankfully, despite the vast amount of goodies consumed!
We had a quick stop in Brora for ice cream and a toilet stop in Golspie, arriving at Nethybridge about 5.20, just in time to settle into the chalets and get ready for tea.
After tea we had some time to meet the other school that are here and to have some games or chill out. The other school is Portliethen and there are 40 pupils staying in the big house.
Timeout at 8.30 was fun, noisy and very interactive so we were ready for some supper after that.
Molly says it is great to meet new people and Kaitlyn intends to make the most of it as it is a one time opportunity!
Not many photos to post yet but I will try to keep you updated as we go through the week.
